The first visit to a doctor’s office can sometimes seem intimidating, especially for kids. But, your first visit to Dietrich Orthodontics will be completely painless!
Your first visit to our orthodontic office is a chance for you to get to know us, meet Dr. Dietrich, and learn about the treatments and services we offer.
You should plan to spend at least an hour with us the first time. This is to ensure that no one has to rush and that you have plenty of time to ask any questions you may have.
You will meet one of our treatment coordinators, who will lead you on a tour of the office. Then it’s time for some diagnostic work and an exam!
Let’s Make a Plan
Your goal for your first appointment is to help us determine what treatment you need and whether we should start now or wait until a later time. Dr. Dietrich will prescribe treatment when necessary, never before.
Our procedure starts by taking a set of photographs of the teeth in their present state, the profile and the smile. Next, we’ll take a series of digital X-ray images.
These enable us to see what’s going on underneath the gums: the position and growth of bones and joints, and the teeth that are still below the gum line.
After that, it’s time for the exam. You’ll meet Dr. Dietrich, who will look at the X-rays and photos, and perform a quick, yet careful and thorough first examination. Besides looking in your mouth, he’ll ask you some questions.
After reviewing your records, Dr. Dietrich will join you in a private consultation room to discuss your individualized and unique treatment plan.
Dr. Dietrich will point out specific areas of concern and show you what kind of corrections you can expect by showing photos and videos of similar cases.
He’ll take as much time as you need to answer your questions and decide what kind of treatment is best for you. Dr. Dietrich and his assistant will then walk you through the process.
They’ll explain everything—from scheduling to expected discomfort levels, to finances and payment options.

Your orthodontic treatment at Dietrich Orthodontics involves a series of orthodontic visits.
Dr. Dietrich and our team value the relationships that we’ll build with you and your family through the braces process and we want you to be confident that you’re receiving the best orthodontic care possible.

Once you feel that Dr. Dietrich has answered all of your questions and concerns, our schedule may allow you to start your braces the same day as your free consultation!
